Nordent Universal & Gracey Classic Curettes

Universal curettes are subgingival instruments that have sharp cutting edges on both sides of the blade with a rounded toe to reduce tissue trauma. There are a variety of patterns available from Columbia and McCall to the always popular Barnhart.

Gracey curettes are also known as “Area Specific Curettes.” All Gracey curettes have one cutting edge on the lower side of the blade and a rounded toe. A complete set of Gracey curettes would include one for Anterior, one for the buccal and lingual surfaces of pre-molars and molars, one for the mesial surfaces of pre-molars and molars and one for the distal surfaces of premolars and molars.

  • Anterior: 1-2, 3-4, 5-6
  • Buccal/Lingual: 7-8, 9-10
  • Mesial: 11-12, 15-16
  • Distal: 13-14, 17-18
